The requirements

For erasing mobile devices, a master unit running Certus Erasure for Mobile Devices is needed. To erase multiple devices simultaneously, a USB-hub is required. It’s recommended to use a USB-hub with a power supply.

All mobile devices that need to be erased should be unlocked. Both Android and iOS devices should have cloud accounts unassigned and removed.

To erase iOS devices, an Internet connection should be established on the master unit running Certus Erasure for Mobile Devices. To erase Android devices, an Internet connection is not necessary.

If the master unit running Certus Erasure for Mobile Devices is connected to the Internet, all your erasure, hardware audit and issue reports will be automatically saved in the Certus Erasure Web Manager. Alternatively, all reports can be saved on an external storage device.

The Process

PREPARE DEVICES

Start Certus Erasure for Mobile Devices. To erase iOS devices, ensure that the master unit running Certus Erasure for Mobile Devices is connected to the Internet. All devices that need to be erased should be unlocked.

CONNECT DEVICES

Connect mobile devices to the USB ports of your master unit. Activate USB-debugging on Android devices. Set the necessary erasure method in Certus Erasure for Mobile Devices.

ERASE DEVICES

Select the devices for erasure and start the erasure process. Android devices will restart automatically. Activate the mobile device and turn on USB-debugging again after the restart.

SAVE ERASURE REPORTS

After the erasure process has been completed, an erasure report is generated. You can save the erasure report in your Certus Erasure Web Manager, or on an external storage drive.
